Jolly Roger is taking over the Caribbean and he's starting by invading Port Royal! You can stop him, but you'll need some help. Invasions mark the beginning of a war between Jolly Roger's Undead Army and the Pirates of the Caribbean, so all hands on deck!
We've put together a guide to answer all your questions about invasions. Now assemble your crew and get ready for action!
Long range weapons like Pistols and Voodoo Staffs are helpful in dealing out damage at a safe distance. But if you're Staff isn't very powerful, no it won't make much difference. The weapon you should use is the one you are most comfortable with - and is the most powerful. Plus, make sure to assign your skill points properly this too also helps make you a force to reckon with! Good luck!
Jane - we're glad you had fun! The invasions are great way to bring us Pirates together for a common cause - to defeat Jolly Roger! We'll pass along your greetings to GM Xavier Hench!
Aye - the invasions have just started! Jolly Roger won't rest until he's wiped us Pirates from the Caribbean! Prepare yourself - his Undead Army is determined to defeat us all!
You are welcome Sarah, we're glad you're enjoying a face to face meeting with Jolly Roger and his Undead Army - but don't give up hope! We can defeat Jolly if we work together.
Tom, you can get anywhere from 800 to 3,600 Reputation Points during an invasion. The amount of Reputation you get depends on several things... Were you crewed up during the battle? How many barricades did you keep from falling? How many enemies did you defeat? How many waves of enemies did you clear? Did you beat back Jolly's forces, or did Jolly succeed and make his way to the mansion and destroy it?
Your final Reputation score is a combination of many factors and the Reputation earned is displayed when the battle is over. You get Reputation win or lose, but if you don't participate during the invasion for example, that is you don't fight, you won't get any Rep. Finally, the maximum amount of Rep is rare. You need to be crewed and going through Jolly's forces like a hot knife through butter. Good luck - it's scary out there.
What happens when you lose? Well, we don't want to spoil that surprise for you, but let's just say that Governor Swann is not going to be happy when he gets back home to the mansion...
If you're experiencing problems, such as slow down or your computer freezing, refer to the section in the invasion guide about fixing performance if the game is running slow during an invasion.Remember, Pikebeard, you should quit and close any other programs when you're playing Pirates Online, this includes a web browser, Instant Messaging or music playing software. Also, make sure you're running the game in Fullscreen. Refer to the Invasion guide for more details on doing that. Finally, try a less populated ocean/server.
Linda, great question - depending on how the battle goes during an invasion, an invasion can end quickly or go on. How much of a resistance are Pirates putting up? How quickly did the Undead Army destroy the barricades? How many Pirates are involved in the battle? All these things play a role in how long an invasion will last. And, invasions will continue until Jolly Roger accomplishes his goal - ridding the Caribbean of Pirates!
We're not sure what you mean by the last part - no help or no action, but if an invasion has started in your ocean, we suggest you see it through.
Sven, we didn't start the invasion, Jolly Roger decides when he'll attack and that's usually when he feels he will encounter the least amount of resistance - or when he thinks the Pirates he's about to face won't put up much of a fight. But we're glad you got a chance to experience an invasion and congratulations on your victory!
